Himalaya Mom Soothing Body Butter – Review

They say that being a mother changes you, and they aren’t kidding.

I still remember how my skin suddenly became dry and dehydrated during my pregger days. Figured out that hormones were the main reason – causing dry and itchy skin. I wanted to slather my skin with a body butter 24/7 because it was so dry!

If you are an expectant or new mom, the good news is that Himalaya has come up with not one but three amazing variants of Soothing Body Butters specially to take care of your demanding and changing skin. Himalaya FOR MOMS Soothing Body Butters are specially formulated for women during pregnancy and beyond.

Himalaya FOR MOMS new launch – Body Butters

A trA trusted brand for years, I am happy to review their body butters knowing their formulae are the best of natural ingredients and are free from phthalates, parabens, alcohol, mineral oils, and tallow. These Soothing Body Butters are suitable for moms with dry skin!

For best results use the Himalaya Mom Soothing Body butter twice daily

I have been using the new Himalaya FOR MOMS Soothing Body Butter every day as a morning and night ritual. It makes my skin super hydrated, soft, and supple. These body butters have 2 key ingredients:

  • Cocoa Butter – which is a natural antioxidant. This soothes, hydrates while keeping the skin balanced
  • Glycerin – which is a humectant that locks in moisture and keeps skin hydrated for longer.

I really liked how Himalaya FOR MOMS Soothing Body Butter comes in 3 soothing fragrances which are very effective in distressing too! My favorite in order are Lavender, Rose, and Jasmine. Which one’s your favorite?

I would totally recommend Himalaya FOR MOMS Soothing Body Butter to anyone who loves happy and supple skin! Please remember, this body butter intensively moisturizes and nourishes your skin, and it gets absorbed pretty quick, doesn’t leave an oily feel, and makes your skin glow!

At Rs.320 for a 200ml tub of Himalaya FOR MOMS Soothing Body Butter- Lavender, it is going to last pretty long! You can also get it in a 100ml or 50ml size to try it first, at all major online and offline stores.

Tina’s Toy Time Review – A toy YouTube Channel for babies and toddlers

I was always that disapproving person looking at moms who would give a mobile to their child to watch YouTube. Yes, I would judge such parenting styles and tell myself I wouldn’t allow any screen time, if I ever had a child.

Being a Mother changed my perspective

Unsaid, I totally changed my viewpoint once I was hit with motherhood. I am still very strict about screen-time but I haven’t banned it like I thought I would! I think we wouldn’t have survived!

Even with the limited screen-time allowed to children the biggest question mark is monitoring what they are watching, especially when it comes to YouTube. I rarely allow Kenisha to watch it when am in tight spots and have run out of all valid suitable ways to keep her engaged. Like when you are at a doctors clinic with a pin drop silence, on an important official call that needs

Say Hello to Tina’s Toy Time

When Tina from Tina’s Toy Time asked me to review her newly launched YouTube channel, I was really intrigued! This came right at a stage when Kenisha had a new found love for all sort of toy videos she recently discovered on YouTube where hands would pick, drop and play with toys but sometimes these cute videos turned strange with weird flashy animation or inappropriate content.

Tina’s Toy time was such a relief because I loved the simplicity of her videos. It looked like real interaction with another person and with toys most babies and toddlers play at their age. Her choice of toys and articles used are always very exciting for the kids and the background effects are too cute, especially the baby giggles and the wows! Her English articulation and vocabulary is clear and easy to follow and perfect for children who do not have English as their first language.

The videos are themed in various categories like alphabets, colours, numbers, shapes and so on.  Though her channel recommends its suitability to 15 months to 3 years but my daughter is 3.5 years and absolutely enjoys it! In fact any child who loves such colourful videos would absolutely enjoy her channel!

Why NPAT Blog Recommends TTT?

Tina Kowalow is a certified Teacher in Canada and a mother of two. She is the perfect person to understand children and create videos that can help harness their imagination using creative and stimulating content. Every child enjoys audio visual and if these can be made educational while cleverly incorporating age appropriate concepts, a child may learn several new words watching a 5 minutes video!

I see how Kenisha repeats after Tina while watching her videos and sometimes she tries to replicate what she saw which is such a great accomplishment in my view.  In today’s time its impossible, especially for busy parents like us to get things done without relying on screen time. But being mindful of the content and selective we can stay rest assured about the exposure our children gain. This is yet another learn through play experience when real play is not an option.

I asked Tina about her future plans and this is what she had to say

When it comes to future plans for TTT, the sky is the limit. Tina is in her element when she’s creating videos – it channels her passion for educating in a fun, technological way that’s unique to the teaching field. So, she can see herself creating such videos as long as they’re in demand.

Her ultimate goal is to create toys, “Tina’s Toys” – non-toxic, safe toys – that coincide with the TTT philosophy of inspiring children’s own imaginative play.

Am helping Tina reach out to more parents looking for fun educational video through YouTube.  If you are one then hit the subscribe button HERE because she adds really amazing videos often. Her current Christmas themed videos are Kenisha’s favourite. Loved the simplistic way of narrating the Christmas story

Not only this we have a giveaway at my Instagram account for 2 lucky moms to win vouchers worth Rs.1000 each. Yes!! we need help to spread the word. Click HERE to join this giveaway.

Don’t forget to share below in comments a review about TTT and your take on screen time 🙂

A gift registry site you must see! Scift.com

Never heard of a gift registry?

A very popular concept in the west but am seeing some amazing sites in India catering to this much-needed void.

A gift registry is an alot like your wish list. Its popularly used for weddings and special occasions like birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries too Typically, when a recipient compiles a list of items they wish to receive and then distributes it to family and friends, they have created a wish list.

Meet Scift.com – INDIA’S FIRST GIFT REGISTRY PERFECT FOR WEDDINGS AND BABY SHOWERS! Scift is a brand new online portal for baby and kids products. They have brought together unique products from over 35 brands all under one roof. Gifts for every occasion including birthdays, baby showers, and more.

When I was asked by Scift.com to try out their newly launched website I was totally amazed by the concept. I immediately created my account and headed to try a gift registry option as well which is available under the account section once you log in.

This means you are able to let your friends and family know what you would enjoy being gifted. It saves them the trouble of assuming and wondering what to get you. At a click of a button they can quickly make a purchase and in turn, you get exactly what you wanted.

Products and brands on Scift.com

With over 35 brands Scift.com offers a huge array of products for kids and moms, there is something for everyone. and they have actually added a lot more since I last shopped with them in December!

So here is what I bought in Rs. 5000

Yep, all that! 4 things for Baby 4 and 2 for mommy 🙂 the shopping experience was fun and easy but the only glitch was the delivery. Each item came at its own pace, the last one, in fact, came after a month! Scift.com was made aware and they are working to improve the same. Apart from that, I think its a fabulous concept!

In fact, I did like to highlight a feature called “Give back” where they have tied up with various NGO where you can choose to donate for a certain cause. I absolutely liked this idea!

Do visit scift.com and am sure you will have something to pick for yourself. Or even better use it to help a friend with a gift registry!

Dressing up the Coo Coo Way!

We moms love dressing up our kids. It’s an absolute joy to buy mini clothing.  Especially in today’s time, there are so many options and variations available. Right from casuals, day wear, nightwear, party wear the list is never-ending.

Dressing up kids should be all about comfort!

If you are a Girl mom like me then you know the double joy of dressing up little princesses! As a new mom, I was always very particular about the clothes I bought for my baby girl especially the fancy looking party wears. It was disheartening to find such pretty dresses but all in wrong fabrics. Synthetics that were rough with no lining and would more than have fasteners or drawstrings or some pointed decorative things that might hurt your child.

So I realised that while buying clothes we must take equal care just like when we buy food for our babies.

I figured out the ideal baby/toddler clothing should be:

  • Soft, comfortable, easy to put on and take off and comparatively loose.

  • Easy access to his/her nappy because it requires frequent changing or bathroom visits.

  • Non-flammable

  • Lightweight and breathable

  • Non-irritating with smooth feel to skin

  • Underclothes/layers should be essentially made of organic fibres

So whats the whole buzz about organic cotton clothing for kids?

Ordinary clothes are manufactured using chemicals which can prove to be harmful to a child’s skin, causing allergy, rashes and other skin infections. Organic cotton clothing is manufactured from organic raw materials and chemical-free processing techniques, which prevent any such risk and ensure complete comfort along with health.

More than often you either find good quality or good designs but getting a combination of both is a rarity!

Luckily I came across a brand that answered all my worries.

Dressing up the Coo Coo Way!

COO COO caters to the parent who is looking for high quality, classic, elegant and comfortable clothes for their children. One look at their collection at www.coocoo.in you shall be swooned over by the outfits designed for newborns to boys and girls aged 10.

When I touched the frocks sent for my daughter it felt like butter on skin! These are made of High-quality 100% cotton. Since Coo Coo does extensive fittings with children of all ages before finalizing their styles, we loved their simple yet chic trims and styles.

NPAT Loves – Matching accessories like hairbands and purses available with these dresses that help to complete the look!

Here are some of our favourite looks designed by Coo Coo for boys and girls. From classic and elegant look to comfort fit. they have got it all! We also love their Indian line using mainly Cotton fabrics like – Cotton Thread Embroidered fabrics, Muslin Cottons, Cotton Dobby’s and Cotton Satins. Most Indian kids brands use synthetic fabrics and laces which most children refuse to wear. So Coo Coo will be our new place to shop now!

And there is more! they have matching outfits for dads and sons! I can’t wait till they get something for the moms and daughters and moms too!

Coo Coo dress Up

This is another super fun concept started by Coo Coo. It was also featured in the Vogue magazine.

Introducing COO COO’s Dress Up Closet/Pop-Up Shop – a unique concept for Return Gifts at your child’s birthday party.

Safe & Environment Friendly baby wipes by MamaEarth

Baby wipes are every parent’s best friend

Primarily designed to keep the baby’s bottoms clean and smooth, baby wipes are now used for every basic cleaning need. Be it baby pukes, wiping a mushy face, cleaning dirty hands. Forget that as an adult I use it all the time to remove my make up or for quick freshen up.

I have never moved out of my house without a pack! Even now when my daughter is 2.5 years old I always carry baby wipes in my handbag for emergency cleanups.

The Ugly truth about Baby Wipes

Baby wipes are no doubt super convenient but did you know that most baby wipes sold in the market are made from polyester, which not only pollutes seas and clogs drains if flushed down the loo, but takes hundreds of years to decompose on landfill. When I look back to our baby days I can easily say we were using up to 200-500 wipes a month (most packs had 72 wipes and we used 3-6 packs easily!). If only you can do the maths and think about how polyester baby wipes affects our environment!

Not to forget we use our baby wipes to clean the little hands and faces.  With that much contact with my baby’s bottom (and hands, arms, and face!), I wanted to ensure that what I am using is soft, sensitive, and durable. So when I looked around for best natural, safe and non-toxic baby wipes, I found none! Standard baby wipes contain some nasty chemicals you might want to avoid on yourself, let alone on your baby. Things like parabens (a chemical preservative), fragrances (which can irritate baby’s sensitive skin), and a variety of other potentially nasty chemicals that you probably don’t want to rub all over your child. But I honestly didn’t find anything suitable so I  carried on with the next best option.

How about a Toxin-Free Organic Bamboo Baby Wipe that is environment-friendly too?

But no more! One of my favourite baby products brand MamaEarth has launched their new Organic Bamboo based wipes! I wonder why no brand thought about this! We are in love with these fresh, organic, toxin-free environment-friendly baby wipes already!

Read on to know why you absolutely must get your hands on these wipes!

  • At about Rs.3.45 each these wipes are very new to the baby wipes market and are by far the best available as per my experience.
  • India’s first polyester free unbleached 100% organic bamboo based wipes, certified by Made Safe Organization. Bamboo fibre is more breathable than cotton fibre.
  • They smell great, they are durable and soft, they are large enough for several passes over a dirty bum, and the company making them (Mamaearth) takes “sensitive” very seriously.
  • A gentle blend of Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Almond Oil and Lavender Oil gently cleanses and soothes baby’s skin. Perfect for cleaning messy hands, face and body.
  • These are chemical-free, hypoallergenic, and are really great at reducing the risk of diaper rash. Perfect for sensitive skin, these leave a nice moist residue without any oily film left on the hands or bum.
  • The texture of the wipe is soft and flexible, with a little bit of stretch so they don’t tear very easily. Thes absorb really well in fact.
  • I loved the resealable packaging, which made it easy to keep the wipes fresh and moist without too much hassle. Usually, when you pull out a wipe, the next wipe comes out of the package a bit too much before letting the first one come loose; which means a decent portion of that next wipe will dry out after a few hours. But when we tested, Mamaearth packaging was 100% waste free. This also makes it Travel-Friendly.
  • Topping our list is an earth-friendly biodegradable alternative to traditional polyester based wet wipes. Can’t get better than this!

For such an amazing product I honestly don’t mind paying Rs.249 for a pack of 72 wipes!

When we make the right choices we also give back to mother nature. Kudos to brands like MamaEarth for being extremely thoughtful about the products they launch!
